How Impact Crushers work
Unlike other crushers, impact crushers use impact instead of compression to crush materials. Equally effective in primary and secondary crushing, high speed rotors with wear-resistant hammers impact the material before throwing it against anvils in the crushing chamber to break it down. Openings on the bottom or side then allow for the crushed material to escape.
Using a primary impact crusher in your quarry could significantly reduce your cost of production. This is because the aggregate is broken down into consistent sizes, reducing the need for screening or further crushing stages.
Used Impact Crushers for sale
If you are looking to combine the work of a jaw crusher and a cone crusher on medium-soft rock, a used impact crusher could be the perfect option.
We can even source impact crushers on tracks, for a totally self-contained crushing machine that you can move to different areas of your quarry easily.
Sandvik Impact Crushers
The Sandvik QI 240 and 340 impact crushers reduce the size of the stone very quickly, but as it’s a much rougher system, this is only suitable for soft rock.
This is because hard rock would wear the machine down very quickly meaning more maintenance items would be needed to replace parts on the machine.
