Have a Question? Sigma Guarantee FAQs
Great question. As the machine is used, it does not carry a formal warranty such as you would get from a manufacturer with a brand new machine. Our guarantee is that when you receive the machine, you will be able to put it straight on to site with no repairs needed. Once it starts work, you will be responsible for maintenance and repairs as with any of your other machinery.
No, we only sell machinery that is in it’s first life and does not need refurbishment. Our promise is that we will test, check and service the machine, any parts that need work will be completed and we will deliver it to you in full operational condition. Once again, should you experience any issue on delivery, just pick up the phone and we’ll fix it.
Our guarantee states that the machine will be in fully operational condition when it arrives. Everything we sell is used so the componentry will be worn commensurate with the hours run on the machine. We don’t cover worn parts, unless they physically prevent the machine from operating. Before we agree a deal with you, we’ll ensure you are entirely familiar with the complete condition of the machine and all of it’s componentry.
You will be put in touch with our aftersales and service department prior to the machine arriving with you. In the unlikely event that you get an issue, your first port of call will be with them. They will then run through a triage procedure with you to ascertain exactly what the issue is. Some possible issues and a typical solution for each are:
Example Scenario One
"I can’t set the rig up on site"
We will schedule a video call with your engineers and a subject matter expert from Sigma. They will take you through the whole set up cycle and ensure that there is not an operator training issue. If that is not successful then we’ll run a deeper diagnostic set up and ultimately if this is still not sufficient then we’ll arrange for an engineer to visit site.
Example Scenario Two
"When you get it on site and start working with it, a previously unidentified issue emerges that stops the machine from operating and that requires repair"
We’ll talk with you to identify exactly which parts need replacing and ask for videos or photos to show the damage. Once this is done we’ll ask you to price the parts from your side and we’ll obtain prices at our end. We’ll then discuss the best solution with you and come to an agreement either to financially reimburse you for the parts or send them out from our base in the UK, whichever makes more sense from a cost and downtime perspective.
It is important to note that we look at every case on it’s own basis, there isn’t a one size fits all solution and we’ll always work with you in a collaborative way to reach the best solution that gets you back up and running as quickly as possible.
We will never ever leave you in the lurch – that’s our personal promise to you!
That’s a great question. We are not infallible and we are human, occasionally something goes wrong. Looking at our aftersales records, we have an aftersales issue in around 0.5% of cases. Of these, all are resolved within a few days and the client is rarely held up from his project timeline.
